Traffic safety assessment is an essential part of traffic planning and engineering. At uncontrolled intersections, the severity of crashes has increased manifolds. This is due to the fact of not following the priority rule during the right-turning movements. In conventional methods, past accident records were used to analyze traffic safety. However, the drawbacks of the traditional method to estimate the severity require a lot of accident data for analysis to draw any conclusion and suggest safety measures. The accuracy of the record of accidents and details is highly uncertain. Therefore, surrogate safety measures are being used to analyze the safety. In the present paper, the gap acceptance time (GT) is used to examine the risk and the speed and gap values define the level of risk and severity (LORS). Moreover, using the value of the critical gap, the probability of risk is estimated. Further, the level of risk and severity is computed based on the gap and speed data of vehicles at an uncontrolled intersection. Hence, with the speed and gap data, the level of risk and severity is classified as low risk, high risk and low severe, and high severe. The methodology implemented is validated by using the actual accident data.

The freight transport industry is one of the primary sectors responsible for excessive energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Restructuring international and domestic freight transport chains based on sustainability and green transportation is critical for practitioners and policymakers to reduce pressure on the logistics and transportation industries. This study aims to develop a mathematical model for selecting the most appropriate transportation type, and accordingly, the optimal route in transportation operations to improve the sustainability performance of the freight transportation industry. Therefore, the main goal is to choose the most suitable route and transportation type which contributes to create a more eco-friendly and sustainable transportation system. For this purpose, Neutrosophic Number-based Delphi (NN-Delphi), m-Generalized q-Neutrosophic Sets (mGqNSs)-based Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (MGqNS-SWARA) and mGqNSs-based Additive Ratio Assessment (mGqNS-ARAS) are developed and implemented to set the influential criteria, compute the weights of these criteria, and identify the sustainability performance of the freight mode variants, respectively. According to the final results, "Cargo security" and "Accident rates" are the most important criteria with a relative importance score of 0.0237, contributing to the sustainability of load transport modes. Moreover, "Maritime Transport Mode" is identified as the most sustainable transportation type with a relative importance score of 0.7895. Finally, it is revealed that there is a positive relationship between maritime transport and sustainability.

Profitability of Sugar Beet Crop in Campaign 2019/2020

The work presents a complex analysis and cost accounting of beet sugar cultivation in the 2019/2020 campaign for individual farms of the Lublin region. About 119 farms were analyzed. On the basis of this analysis, the criteria for the model farm were defined, which were adapted for the calculation of sugar beet production costs. The economic results obtained by the producers are mainly affected by indirect costs accounting for 60.48% of the revenue from the total production. Within this group of costs, the major components are sowing service, harvest and soil liming operations reaching 39.26%. Sugar beet production in the analyzed campaign was profitable, with the profitability index 1.21 and unit production cost of 15.07 PLN/dt. Sugar beet growing is considered to be one out of profit-making activities, in agricultural production, yet it is characterized by the high production cost that gobbled up 82.48% of total revenue in the analyzed campaign of 2019/20.
