A Case Study on Potential Saving of Energy Consumption at Hospital Putrajaya

Abstract: Efficient electrical energy usage has been recognised as one of the significant factors to reduce the cost of electrical energy consumption. In this world, hospitals are public buildings that use the enormous energy of other buildings. Due to its 24 hours service, the use of hospital building energy is estimated to be among the highest compared to commercial and residential buildings. In this research, the main building of Putrajaya Hospital has been selected. The main building covered by the first floor until… Show more

“…Based on the research at developing country, 30% to 40% of natural resources were exploited by construction industry which are 50% of energy will be used for heating and cooling the building. This similar percentage is expected in the developing country such as Malaysia [1,2]. Malaysia is categorized as a developing country; a lot of projects are in progress and on planning to build.…”

“…Using this sensor, the lighting system will only light up when the sensor detects any motion by person or objects such as cars, motorcycle, and bicycle. Authors truly support the initiatives of changing all the existing fluorescent lamp to LED as suggested by authors from the previous studies and the implementation of air-conditioning settings policy in which the temperature need to be set within the range of 24℃ -26℃ for further improvement of energy efficiency [19,20].…”

“…Due to the induction motor's wide range of industrial uses, there has been a lot of study done to improve its technological capabilities, and firms from around the world have embraced this business [2]. This is due to their high and continual energy consumption, as they are facilities with substantial energy needs [3]. Without the ability to control the speed of load, it can be quite hard for maintaining the machine and its energy consumption.…”
