A Cerium‐Containing Metal‐Organic Framework: Synthesis and Heterogeneous Catalytic Activity toward Fenton‐Like Reactions

Abstract: A cerium‐based metal‐organic framework, namely MOF‐589, was synthesized using benzoimidephenanthroline tetracarboxylic acid (H4BIPA‐TC) as an organic linker. Full characterization including single‐crystal and powder X‐ray diffraction analysis, thermogravimetrical analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and N2 adsorption measurements at low pressure and 77 K were carried out. The material was employed as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for decomposition of methylene blue (MB) dye (40 ppm) in the presence of… Show more

“…The 3D framework structure of the complex 1 has been simplified, and ligand BINDI and SBU were simplified to 4-connected nodes, respectively. By the TOPOS5.0 program, the overall structure can be simplified as a 4-c lvt-type net from the c-axis direction and the point symbol is {4 Actually, some Ln-MOFs based on the H 4 BINDI ligand have been reported, [30][31][32][33] whereas, the crystal structures of complexes 1-4 are different from them in terms of coordination environment of metal centers and linking patterns of the ligand. Here, the crystal structures of these Ln-MOFs are compared from various aspects.…”

“…Fortunately, cerium-based metal–organic framework (CeMOF) with high porosity and large surface area can be employed as a carrier for LOX immobilization 18 , 19 , 20 . Furthermore, CeMOF with oxidase-like activity converts H 2 O 2 (the by-product of lactate oxidation) into hydroxyl radicals (·OH) in acidic TME 21 , 22 . Therefore, such lactate targeted metabolite intervention contributes to the TME reprogramming, as well as the nanocytalytic reactions for reactive oxygen species (ROS) mediated immunogenic tumor cell death (ICD) ( Fig.…”
