“…There was no mortality in our patients due to early presentation and proper treatment which was started immediate after diagnosis, but generally a mortality of 10-20% had been reported in different series. 10,16 CONCLUSION: Amoebic liver abscess (ALA) is the most common extra-intestinal complication of amoebiasis in Indians affecting the young and middle aged men of lower socio-economic group. Prompt treatment results in improved survival and lower morbidity.…”
