Abstract:Primary spontaneous pneumomediastinum is a rare, often benign and self-limited condition defined by air within the mediastinum. However, correctly distinguishing primary spontaneous pneumomediastinum from secondary causes, especially esophageal perforation, remains a diagnostic challenge.
