A Cloud Services Research and Selection System

Abstract: Cloud computing is a technology that has emerged in the last decade and that is transforming the IT industry. Our interest in this work is the research area of Cloud services search and selection systems. These systems allow Cloud users to search through Cloud services and find the ones that match their requirements. In this paper, we present a Cloud Service Research and Selection System based on an adaptation of the Skyline algorithm. The system selects Cloud services that best meet the users' requirements fr… Show more

“…It will be very interesting to test our approach with a more efficient algorithm. Also, the idea behind the article supports that the cooperation, based on the local knowledge of the network, is very important in a vehicular ad hoc network, empathy is a cooperative behavior too and we intend to go further with the approach and see how it could be applied in other scenarios such as the ones in cloud services [17,18,19,20,21] or for airport planes as detailed in [24,25].…”

“…This work didn’t provide a clear architecture or framework for cloud services marketplace. Abourezq and Idrissi [20] presented cloud service search and selection system based-on Skyline algorithm [21] which is able to capture the numerical attributes only. Garg et al [22] proposed a framework (SMICloud) for comparing and ranking cloud services based on Service Measurement Index (SMI).…”

“…It guarantees perfect quality of service through load balancing across several servers or data centers, and again through the implementation of procedures to restore applications and data backup in case of disaster. In effect, with the multiplication of services in the cloud, several questions can be asked about the quality of service (QoS) rendered [18,19,20]. The QoS refers to the ability to respond with quality to user needs and to provide a service according to the requirements in terms of response time, bandwidth, availability, etc.…”
