“…These techniques can detect any nucleic acids and are not specific for COVID-19 LAMP products. Additionally, electrophoresis is time-consuming and tedious, while for colored dyes and indicators, the judgment of color change in tubes by eye is potentially subjective ( Lee et al, 2020 ). Therefore, there is an ongoing need to develop new LAMP-based assays that are capable of simultaneously detecting multiple SARS-CoV-2 targets to provide a rapid and more objective result, as well as to facilitate simpler diagnostic tests.…”

“…In this sense, Horseradish peroxidase mimicking DNAzyme (HRPzyme) forms a G‐quadruplex structure that mimics peroxidase activity after binding to hemin, and catalyzes the oxidation of 2,2′‐azino‐bis(3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulfonic acid (ABTS) or 3,3′,5,5′ tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) in the presence of H 2 O 2 , which produces a colored product. This approach was used in combination with LAMP for the detection of V. parahaemolyticus ; in this study, positive samples displayed a faint blue color, whereas negative reactions displayed very intense color (Lee et al., 2020). Similar approaches have been reported for other pathogens (Liu et al., 2018; Zhu et al., 2017).…”

“…It has been utilized for the alternative detection of certain diseases because of its low cost. At present, LAMP has been applied to the identification and quantification of pathogenic bacteria with significant advantages in sensitivity, specificity, and rapidity [95,132]. Since LAMP requires four primers specifically designed for six different regions of the target, any incomplete matching of the primers will theoretically lead to the phenomenon of non-reaction and nonspecific amplification.…”
