Abstract:An extremely compact integrated receiver for DQPSK signals based on two tunable silicon-on-insulator (SOI) microring resonators and four integrated germanium photodetectors is reported. Simulations show the expected performance of the device and how it compares with alternative receivers, i.e., conventional receivers based on delayed Mach-Zehnder interferometers and Gaussian filters based ones. The device, fabricated in a silicon photonic multiuser wafer run, is described and experimentally characterized showi… Show more
This study investigates the use of integrated optics micro-ring for precise measurement of wavelength shift, demonstrating high accuracy (< MHz) and large dynamic range experimentally for laser wavelength locking applications.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
