A compact terahertz frequency selective surface with fast roll-off characteristics

Abstract: A simple and compact terahertz (THz) frequency selective surface (FSS) with high selectivity is presented for the cases of normal incidence. The guidelines for the design along with the operation mechanism are presented in detail from the view of equivalent circuit. The design is implemented by mapping the lumped components in a topology circuit of microwave filter with two transmission zeros to structures of FSS, while the mapping is realized by slotting cross-shaped aperture in the grid.
