“…Another very commonly used model for fluid flow description in fractured-caved reservoirs is the radial-composite model, which is proposed for studying the pressure behavior in a composite reservoir with two adjacent concentric zones of different permeability (Loucks and Guerrero, 1961;Yao et al, 2016). Reservoir engineers prefer the radialcomposite model for two reasons (Xing et al, 2018).…”

“…Fracture-caved reservoirs have great development potential in carbonate reservoirs and are gradually becoming the focus of carbonate reservoir development. As the demands for crude oil increase, the development of fracture-caved reservoirs is becoming an increasingly important field in energy production. Fracture-caved reservoirs exhibit high heterogeneity due to the fractures and meter-scale caves located in the different distributions. The large-scale caves offer ample storage space while fracture zones with higher conductivity enhance the fluid flow efficiency. The flow behavior will be affected by the location of wells and the distribution of caves in the formation. The complex wellbore–fracture–cave distributions and flow mechanism characterization are not clear in previous studies. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop transient models suitable for various fracture-caved distributions.…”

“…However, models that consider the fluid flow in the matrix are not sufficiently accurate due to the low permeability and conductivity of the matrix. It is more accurate to consider the fracture zones and huge caves as storage and flow domains for fracture-caved reservoirs. Wei et al developed three mathematical models of vertical beads-on-string structures to estimate reservoir properties. Li et al , established dual-cave dual-fracture series models and dual-cave single-fracture parallel models, which can be simplified into kinds of bead-shaped fracture-caved models.…”
