Purpose This study aims to provide an overview of the development of corporate governance and ownership structure literature and offers a synopsis of the top contributors, influential articles, journals and potential research prospects on this subject. Design/methodology/approach This study used bibliometric analysis to review the literature. In all, 1,368 articles published between 1992 and 2022 in Scopus-indexed journals were considered. Findings This review reveals the top leading authors, institutions, countries and sources in the ownership structure research. Using bibliographic coupling, this study fetches four significant clusters. The theme of the first cluster revolved around cash holding. The second and third groups revealed how distinct characteristics of ownership impact the performance of the firm and disclosure decisions, respectively. The last and fourth cluster deals with risk-taking activities in financial institutions. Furthermore, this study suggests a road map in each cluster for future research. Originality/value Ownership structure plays a significant role in corporate governance by affecting manager incentives and determining the extent of monitoring. Previous studies have contributed to this field while focusing on the board of directors. However, no study synthesises the literature on ownership structure within corporate governance, which is the core element of the corporate governance system. Hence, this study gives a comprehensive overview and determines the latest and prominent research in ownership structure within corporate governance through bibliometric analysis.

PurposeJob embeddedness is considered crucial for organizational success, as it promotes social capital and helps to reduce turnover. A holistic review of job embeddedness remains elusive despite gaining researchers' and practitioners' attention. Therefore, this study aims to synthesize the past literature to understand the concepts and emerging themes in the domain. Further, it helps identify future research avenues and proposes a comprehensive conceptual framework.Design/methodology/approachThe study used bibliographic data of 263 Scopus-indexed publications from inception, i.e. 2001 to 2021, which were subsequently analyzed using diverse bibliometric and content analysis (TCCM) framework and software like Microsoft Excel, Vosviewer and “Biblioshiny” package in R language.FindingsThe study analyzes the domain via performance analysis which sheds light on the increasing publication trends and different significant contributors (authors, publications, countries, journals and universities). Science mapping techniques such as keyword analysis identifies author keyword evolution and trends. The content analysis showcases the dominance of diverse psychological theories applied in the domain. Also, the bibliographic-coupling analysis highlights major clusters and associated research publications. The study provides future research avenues, followed by a conceptual framework highlighting the antecedents, moderators and outcomes of job embeddedness.Originality/valueThis study is the first bibliometric and content analysis exploring job embeddedness and will aid in developing a comprehensive understanding of the research topic.

Employee job performance plays a pivotal role in ascertaining an organization's competitive edge. Despite the recent surge in interest in Psychological Capital (PsyCap) as a novel approach to augmenting employee job performance, this area of study has received limited attention in the Malaysian context. Meanwhile, the issue of stress and anxiety appears to be closely associated with Generation Z (Gen Z). As the youngest cohort in the workforce, the initial phase of Gen Z's entry into the workplace gives rise to various concerns, including job engagement and job turnover. Despite extensive discussions on these matters in recent studies, the understanding of their impact on job performance and the underlying mechanisms remains limited. Hence, the aim of this conceptual paper is to propose a conceptual model that empirically examines the relationship between PsyCap and job performance. Additionally, the role of generational characteristics as a moderator in this relationship will also be explored. The proposed conceptual framework holds significant potential for contributing to future research endeavours.
