A comprehensive review on monitoring and purification of water through tunable 2D nanomaterials

F. O. Areche,
C. M. C. Mamani,
J. A. L. Cárdenas
et al.

Abstract: Instead of typical household trash, the heavy metal complexes, organic chemicals, and other poisons produced by huge enterprises threaten water systems across the world. In order to protect our drinking water from pollution, we must keep a close eye on the situation. Nanotechnology, specifically two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials, is used in certain wastewater treatment systems. Graphene, g-C3N4, MoS2, and MXene are just a few examples of emerging 2D nanomaterials that exhibit an extraordinary ratio of surface… Show more

“…Treatment 2 for C. africana and M. stenopetala, T4 for F. albida and T7 for M. ferruginea has shown highly signifcant diferences compared to the other treatments indicating that species responded diferently to diferent soil mixtures. Te result is corroborated with the fndings of where they reported a positive repose of plant height to the combined application of organic and inorganic fertilizers, which might be due to the presence of macro and micronutrients in the organic matter [41,42]. Plant height increased with the application of organic and inorganic fertilizers due to increased absorption of available nutrients [43].…”

“…The length of time nanosorbents interact with metal ions plays a crucial role in the cost-efficient treatment of water or wastewater polluted with harmful heavy metals. Extended contact durations between pollutants and adsorbents enhance adsorption efficiency by prolonging the interaction between active chelation sites and the metals (Aghababai Beni and Jabbari, 2022;Ahmad et al, 2023;Areche et al, 2023). Usually, in the early stages of adsorption, the removal efficiency shows quick advancement, then progresses gradually.…”
