Computation should develop and become more powerful and flexible as a result of the expansion of apps and the incorporation of novel consumers into the realm of computing systems. The potential of live virtual machine (VM) migration among various clouds is one of the growing study fields in cloud computing. It can be more important when the cloud service quality that a user is presently using deteriorates or when a new cloud service is launched that is superior in performance, quality, and pricing to the existing services. Because this problem is NP-Hard in nature, this article proposes a method to migrate the load from an over-loaded VMs to the active machine that is least loaded using a fuzzy-based shark smell optimization algorithm. This algorithm is based on a shark's ability to discover prey as a strong hunter in nature, based on the shark's smell sense and motion to the odor source. The suggested optimization technique mathematically models diverse shark behaviors in the search environment, which is seawater.The CloudSim is utilized to illustrate the efficiency of the approach compared to others. The outcomes reveal that energy consumption and execution time are better than Genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization algorithms.

A study conducted by Bhardwaj and Krishna [ 107 ] compared the use of the pre-copy VM migration scheme with that of the LXD/CR container migration technique, concluding that the use of latter reduces system downtime by 76.66%, migration time by 65.55%, scalability (volume of data transferred) by 76.63%, throughput (number of transferred pages) by 76.78%, overhead costs were reduced with regards to CPU utilisation by 55.89% and RAM utilisation by 76.52%. Thus, containerised technology costs less, guarantees more system up-time and saves times.…”

Cyber situational awareness has been proven to be of value in forming a comprehensive understanding of threats and vulnerabilities within organisations, as the degree of exposure is governed by the prevailing levels of cyber-hygiene and established processes. A more accurate assessment of the security provision informs on the most vulnerable environments that necessitate more diligent management. The rapid proliferation in the automation of cyber-attacks is reducing the gap between information and operational technologies and the need to review the current levels of robustness against new sophisticated cyber-attacks, trends, technologies and mitigation countermeasures has become pressing. A deeper characterisation is also the basis with which to predict future vulnerabilities in turn guiding the most appropriate deployment technologies. Thus, refreshing established practices and the scope of the training to support the decision making of users and operators. The foundation of the training provision is the use of Cyber-Ranges (CRs) and Test-Beds (TBs), platforms/tools that help inculcate a deeper understanding of the evolution of an attack and the methodology to deploy the most impactful countermeasures to arrest breaches. In this paper, an evaluation of documented CRs and TBs platforms is evaluated. CRs and TBs are segmented by type, technology, threat scenarios, applications and the scope of attainable training. To enrich the analysis of documented CRs and TBs research and cap the study, a taxonomy is developed to provide a broader comprehension of the future of CRs and TBs. The taxonomy elaborates on the CRs/TBs dimensions, as well as, highlighting a diminishing differentiation between application areas.

This paper presents a method for virtualizing interruptions in an embedded hypervisor environment. The method involves the hypervisor taking control of hardware interruptions, providing them to a guest operating system (OS) for virtualization, and simulating interruption events through service threads running on the hypervisor. The guest OS executes a virtualization interruption service program using interruption injection operations provided by the hypervisor, bypassing the need to respond to hardware interruptions. This approach allows interruption service programs to be executed in a conventional stack environment, eliminating the need for copying and preserving the execution context. A comparative analysis with the virtualization scheme in Xen reveals that the proposed method reduces the overhead associated with field preservation, thereby enabling more efficient interruption response.
