A Contribution to Isolated and Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Systems under Shadow Conditions

Abstract: The power supplied by photovoltaic panel is sensitive to radiation incident on itself. Both isolated and grid connected applications are very important output voltage. The load usually works in constant voltage. Variation on radiation levels may lead to no voltage. This work presents the use of a PID controller in a converter able to provide constant voltage for an isolated system even during radiation variation in solar panel. presents a PI controller to a three-phase inverter connected system. The controller… Show more

“…According to the IEEE standard 929-2000, PV systems are also divided into three categories considering the power output: 1) systems rated at 10 kW or less, 2) systems rated between 10 kW and 500 kW, and 3) systems rated above 500 kW. Moreover, based on the way the PV system is connected, the PV systems are classified into two more categories: grid-connected systems and islanded or standalone systems (Cupertino et al, 2012). In figures 2.11 and 2.12 the diagrams of a grid-connected PV system and a stand-alone PV system are depicted respectively.…”
