A contribution to the knowledge of cheyletid mites of Iran with redescription of Eucheyletia flabellifera (Michael, 1878) (Prostigmata: Cheyletidae)

Abstract: The cheyletid mites collected from Guilan province in Northern Iran were investigated. A total of 16 species were determined. Of these, Eucheyletia flabellifera (Michael, 1878) is a new record for the Iranian cheyletid mite fauna. Herein, we provide an expanded description, including illustrations of the adult female of this species based on the Iranian material. A tabulated checklist for cheyletid mites recorded from Iran is also provided.
