A coupled thermal-drop impact analysis-based safety assessment of radioactive material cask

Abstract: Purpose Transport is an integral part of the nuclear fuel cycle. The procedures employed are designed and conducted to ensure the public and environment protection both routinely and when transport accidents occur. According to this, the purpose of this paper is to focus on a coupled thermal-drop impact analysis-based safety assessment of a nuclear fuel cask. Design/methodology/approach For the cask, high altitude falling and fire accidents are the two most serious accidents during its transportation. In thi… Show more

“…The normalized making matrix is shown in Table 3. Based on the normalized making matrix and MADM-entropy theories, and according to formulas (8) and 9 According to formula (13), the normalization weights of facilities in criteria level are z i (w) = (0.264427, 0.203859, 0.156959, 0.110148, 0.079328, 0.13141, 0.02 144, 0.032428), so the optimization sequence of facilities in criteria level is…”

“…A growing number of subjective methodologies are used to evaluate the reliability and safety of the system. [5][6][7][8] Multiple-attribute decision-making (MADM) is always used together with entropy to determine the attribute weights. 9 The concept of entropy is extensively used as a quantitative measure of uncertainty associated with a random variable.…”

“…However, the pressures of different liquid levels in large-scale liquid storage tanks are completely different, and there is no pressure on the upper surface, so the thin-walled cylinder method is not suitable for calculating the stress of large-scale liquid storage tanks. [28][29][30] In this paper, the stress state at the crack is studied based on the combined cylinder method.…”
