A critical review of Henry’s law constants for chemicals of environmental interest

Abstract: The Henry's law constants (air-water partition coefficients) of hydrophobic organic compounds of environmental concern are reviewed. An Qutline of the thermodynamic principles which govern the relationships between vapor pressure, solubility and Henry's law constant for solid and liquid compounds is presented and experimental techniques for obtaining these quantities with the required accuracy are discussed. Vapor pressure, solubility, and Henry's law constant data are tabulated and reviewed for a total of ISO… Show more

“…In our work, we selected n-decane and toluene, which are organic compounds of environmental interest. n-Decane is an aliphatic hydrocarbon that is nearly immiscible with water 23 (its solubility is 1.7 × 10 −7 mol kg −1 ), whereas toluene is an aromatic hydrocarbon sparingly soluble in water 24 (its solubility is 5 × 10 −3 mol kg…”

“…Après une vigoureuse agitation, la concentration dans le <c headspace)) est dosée par CPG. L'application de la Loi de Henry (Mackay et Shiu, 1981) nous permet de connaître la quantité totale de CH4 présente dans le flacon à tO. Un té-moin est réalisé avec de I'eau distillée.…”
