A critical review on Image Mosaicing

Abstract: Image Mosaicing is a method of combining two or more images into a single set of large image. Mosaic image is created from a partial views to obtain large view of a scene and it has many applications. This paper discusses a review on distinct algorithms of feature detectors and descriptors. Typically five phases are included in an Image Mosaicing. They are: Feature Extraction, Image Registration, Homography Computation, Image Warping and Blending. The Feature Extraction can be done by using multiple corner det… Show more

“…Otra de las técnicas existentes es el warping, que permite cambiar digitalmente la forma de las partes de una imagen con propósitos creativos para corregir sus distorsiones (Prathap et al, 2016). Esta técnica tiene diferentes aplicaciones, como generar caricaturas a través de la exageración de rasgos personales.…”

“…Another of the current techniques in use is warping, which allows the shape of some part of the image to be digitally modified for creative purposes, correcting possible dysfunctions or even creating distortions (Prathap et al, 2016). This technique has different applications including the generation of caricatures by way of the exaggeration of personal features.…”

“…This method is very precise but cannot be applied on very large surfaces (due to the number of points). • The computer vision-based method with feature detection is similar to the direct method but takes into account edges, corners, or blobs to find points of interest (POI) on maps with algorithms, as explained by Prathap et al [8]. These algorithms, called detectors and descriptors, are used to find these features on maps.…”
