A cross-sectional study of the use and effectiveness of the Individual Development Plan among doctoral students

Abstract: Background: The Individual Development Plan (IDP) was introduced as a tool to aid in career planning for doctoral trainees. As we have recently shown with PhD students 5 , the effectiveness of the IDP among its users is associated with positive mentorship relationships ( Figure 2 and Supplementary File 3 ).
