A Decade Trend of Total Factor Productivity of Key State-Owned Forestry Enterprises in China

Abstract: State-owned forestry enterprises are important elements of the forestry economy in China. The operational efficiency of such enterprises depends on technological progress and other input factors. According to Yang et al's research [23], desirable outputs include total output and the sale value, both of which can also be accessed from the China Forestry Statistical Yearbook. According to Zheng et al's research [3], undesirable outputs include effluent, exhaust, and solid-waste, all of which can be estimated using data from the China Statistical Yearbook on Environment and the China Forestry Statistical Yearbook.…”

“…Application of the leaves as green manure challenges current theory that the Chinese happytree is allelopathic and limits the growth of many crops [15][16][17][18]. According to Yang and Li (1992), in fact, the leaves of the Chinese happytree contain 2.62% N, 0.51% P, 2.56% K in dry weight. Therefore, 500 kg of dry leaves may have the same fertility as 12.75 kg superphosphate, or 65.5 kg ammonium phososphate, or 25.5 kg potassium sulfate [19].…”
