Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are the new speed-accelerating technologies worldwide and are used continuously in a range of critical applications. Any damage or compromise to data security could have physical and direct effects on network efficiency and safety. One of the active areas of research is key management, authentication, and trust management in wireless sensor networks (WSN). Since researchers have provided many protection schemes, it is difficult to select which key management or trust management schemes in a specific WSN application suit best. We did a detailed survey in our paper on how the properties of various trust management, authentication, and key management schemes can be used for specific applications. Based on this review, we present the methodologies, advantages, and limitations of the previously proposed key management, authentication, and trust management scheme in WSN. The goal of this thorough analysis is to compare and find the correct security solution that successfully meets the requirements of the application. Moreover, the strength, weaknesses, and open problems are added that can extend more frontiers to get the best security solutions in the future.s

The open stack communication protocol of the internet of things always in security threats. The vulnerability of protocol faces a problem of man in middle attacks and loss of integrity of communication. Cryptography plays a vital role in security authentication on IoT based enable communication system. IoT devices' limited resource constraints cannot offer any security mechanism on the physical level and network level. The key generation methods uplift the security provision in IoT enables communication model. The process of key generation applied three types of cryptography algorithm, symmetric, asymmetric and hybrid algorithm. The complexity of key generation methods needs more computational time and memory; this is the limitation of IoT devices. So various authors proposed a lightweight key generation algorithm for security and authentication. This paper analyzed the performance of key generation methods based on different cryptography approaches and measured their security strength. For the analysis process, use MATLAB software and sample text data file for the communication of two parties. Some ADHOC methods apply to measure protocol weakness during the communication network compromised with a man in the middle attack. The variable key size also reflects the security strength of IoTs enable devices.

Summary Internet of Things (IoT) provides the possibility for milliards of devices throughout the world to communicate with each other, and data are collected autonomously. The big data generated by the devices should be managed securely. Due to security challenges, like malicious nodes, many approaches cannot respond to these concerns. In this paper, a robust hybrid method, including encryption, is used as an efficient approach for resolving the Low‐Power and Lossy Networks (RPL) protocol concerns so that the devices are connected securely. Therefore, the proposed Detection of sinkholes in RPL (DSH‐RPL) method for securing the RPL protocol comprises the four following phases: the first phase creates a reliable RPL. The second phase detects the sinkhole attack. The third phase quarantines the detected malicious node, and the fourth phase transmits data through encryption. The simulation results show that the DSH‐RPL reduces the false‐positive rate more than 18.2% and 23.1% and reduces the false‐negative rate more than 16.1% and 22.78% and it also increases the packet delivery rate more than 19.68% and 25.32% and increases the detection rate more than 26% and 31% compared to SecTrust‐RPL and IBOOS‐RPL.
