Abstract:Recognition of drug‐induced cognitive decline is helpful in that omission of the offending agent can often reverse the cognitive dysfunction. Older people are more likely to develop drug‐related cognitive side‐effects in contrast to younger patients due to age‐related changes in brain neurochemistry. Here, Dr Bangash and Dr Bharmal discuss such a case involving the epilepsy medication topiramate.
