“…In a different study, a 12‐week individualized intensive outpatient center‐based rehabilitation program did not affect any domain of HRQL in post‐acute GBS patients (Khan et al , ) . In another sample of GBS patients, all four subscales of the McGill Pain Questionnaire (MPQ) correlated with the SF‐12 mental summary scale (Kogos et al , ) . As for the physical dimension of HRQL, only the pain intensity and severity subscales of the MPQ correlated with it.…”

“…The difference between the categories may well be unequal, as the numbers allocated to the categories have no numerical value. Therefore, measurements should preferably be performed at the interval or ratio level, thus ensuring a high degree of assessment precision (Stevens, 1946), Although the age and gender distributions of the included studies in this review suggest that patient samples were representative for GBS (Sejvar et al, 2011), none of the included articles studied HRQL in children with GBS and all but three (Kogos et al, 2005;Demir and Koseoglu, 2008;Khan et al, 2011) studies were performed in European countries, generally covering similar ethnic groups. As a result, the generalizability of findings from these studies to children with GBS and GBS patients in other continents may be problematic.…”

“…There is little doubt that pain is associated with GBS [23][24][25], but the extent to which this is a function of the specific neurological condition itself, musculo-skeletal dysfunction or a combination of both is unclear [26,27].…”
