A design method for highly efficient power amplifiers: Application to class F amplifiers

Abstract: A method for the design of high‐power‐added efficiency amplifiers, based on optimum load investigations, is presented. The key point of the proposed method is the successive adjustments of the device loads presented at fundamental and harmonic frequencies. Effects of harmonic tuning on power performances are investigated by an extensive analysis of current and voltage drain waveforms.
