A development of the mobile computing system for repair and patrol of electric power facilities

Abstract

As the wireless comr~aun~cat~on networks are distr~b~tted in the wide areas and the use of portable term~nals ~s getting popular, the mob~le computing technologies are be~ng developed rapidly. Moreover,~n most electr~c~ty power corporat~ons, the GIS(Geogr~phic Information System) d~t~base system had been established so as to connect repa~r works w~th topolog~c~l ~nform~t~on . Unfortunately,~t ~s not connected w~th d~str~but~on mob~le repa~r works based on mobile computing. In th~s study, we have developed the system which can track the location of repa~r veh~cles mov~ng at all times so as to d~spatch the vehicles to the failed place quickly . And this system had realized modern~zat~on of mobile repair works.The ~nformation about power failure receipt αηd the system const~tution, ~nfornaat~on about relevant facility could be ut~l~zed outdoor .
