A Direct Amination of Isoprene by Aniline – Catalyzed by Palladium Complexes

Abstract: The reaction of isoprene with aniline, catalyzed by Pd (acac) 2 Ϫ(RO) 3 P-CF 3 COOH, (1:4:4) (R ϭ Me, Et, acac ϭ (CH 3 CO) 2 CH-) in MeCN solution, results in high (up to 89 mol.%) selectivity of NϪ(3-methyl-2-buten-1-yl) aniline.
