A DSP-Based Control System for Precision Variable Rate Fertilization

Abstract: A real-time control system with TMS320F2812 DSP microprocessor as a control core for precision variable rate fertilization was designed, which were composed of the power system, DSP microprocessor controller, executive mechanism for variable rate fertilization, data storage module, speed test module and human-computer interaction module. A human-computer interaction interface system based on data storage and graphics was developed and the main control program was programmed. When the control system is working,… Show more

“…The results showed that the average fruit yield was higher and 39% less fertilizer was used with the variable fertilization treatment than the traditional method. Tang et al [34] used a variable fertilizer control system with a digital signal processing (DSP) microprocessor as the control core to set each fertilizer element required for the target area based on a human-computer interface. The system was not validated in a large field environment, and the positioning accuracy for applications in large fields was not verified.…”

“…When the pressure of the liquid fertilizer pump is not less than 0.6 MPa, the amount of fertilizer sprayed reaches 20 mL, which meets the requirements of the amount of fertilizer required for corn. In summary, during the operation of the liquid fertilizer targeted deep-application device, the pressure of the liquid fertilizer pump should be adjusted to not be lower than 0.6 MPa, and the amount of fertilizer sprayed can meet the agronomic requirements for the amount of fertilizer sprayed in the deep application of liquid fertilizer [15,44].…”
