A Dual-Band Circular Slot Antenna With an Offset Microstrip-Fed Line for Pcs, Umts, Imt-2000, Ism, Bluetooth, Rfid and Wlan Applications

Abstract: Abstract-In this paper, a circular slot antenna fed by an offset microstrip-fed line is proposed. The antenna exhibits dual-band characteristics. The two operating frequency bands are: 1.83-2.73 GHz and 5.36-7.63 GHz, which are of impedance bandwidth 39.5% and 34.9% respectively. The bands are suitable for PCS, UMTS, IMT-2000, ISM, Bluetooth, RFID and WLAN applications. A parametric study has been carried out by varying the location of the feedline to investigate its effect on the resonant frequency. Impedance… Show more

“…These antennas are based on the slot design configurations. These slot antenna design structures have improved dual-band responses for wireless communications [10][11][12][13][14]. Among these techniques, we will use the insertion of the slots at the radiating element [15].…”

“…RFID is becoming more popular in many modern applications; it is considered one of the most active commercial research fields. Several frequency bands have been assigned to RFID applications: 125-134 kHz, 13.56 MHz, 860-960 MHz, 2.450 GHz (2.4-2.483 GHz) and 5.8 GHz . Several issues are involved in choosing a frequency of operation [1,2].…”

“…Different technologies such as 2G/3G/4G and Long Term Evolution (LTE) are modified and developed for wireless data services in Wi-Fi, WiMAX and Industrial Scientific Medical (ISM) applications with circular polarization. WiMAX covers three different bands for low, middle and high frequencies at 2.5-2.8 GHz, 3.2-3.8 GHz and 5.2-5.8 GHz, respectively [1,2]. Microstrip slot antennas with various shapes are studied for wideband wireless applications for linear and circular polarization and bidirectional pattern [3,4].…”

“…However, the proposed antenna utilizes probe feeding that results in narrow bandwidth. In [29], a microstrip-fed line used in the circular slot antenna has been reported. However, the bandwidth of the antenna has yet been enhanced for dual-band operation.…”
