A fast network coding scheme for mobile wireless sensor networks

Abstract: In mobile wireless sensor networks, linear network coding has been shown to improve the performance of network throughput and reduce delay. However, the linear dependence of coded packets caused by linear network coding will result in significant instability of the entire network during data transmission. Moreover, current linear network coding schemes do not distinguish between the real-time requirements of different packets. To solve the above problems, a weighted Vandermonde echelon fast coding scheme is pr… Show more

“…In Deterministic Linear Network Coding (DLNC), the coefficients used by the intermediate nodes to perform the NC are deterministically selected. That is, the coefficients are not randomly selected in the finite field but selected from techniques that aim to optimize the network coding process [41], which means that the validity of the coding scheme is guaranteed. That is, it ensures that encoded messages are linearly independent.…”

“…Table 1 presents the comparison of the algorithms and key findings of these studies. In [25], a weighted Vandermonde echelon fast coding scheme is proposed to reduce the dependence problem of the NC matrix with less computational overhead. Similarly, the sliding NC streaming code for ultrareliable low-latency communication (URLLC) using RLNC is proposed in [26].…”

“…But while working on heterogeneous data items, network coding has some drawbacks [9]. It does not perform well as it has been on singular data items [29]. It is caused by the encoding technique which is used in network coding [15].…”
