A fast parameter estimation algorithm for polyphase coded CW signals

Abstract: A fast parameter estimation algorithm is discussed for a polyphase coded Continuous Waveform (CW) signal in Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN). The proposed estimator is based on the sum of the modulus square of the ambiguity function at the different Doppler shifts. An iterative refinement stage is proposed to avoid the effect of the spurious peaks that arise when the summation length of the estimator exceeds the subcode duration. The theoretical variance of the subcode rate estimate is derived. The Monte-C… Show more

“…The design of the polyphase code with better coherency and the correlation can be taken as the optimization problem (Singh and Subba Rao, 2006). Some of the algorithms, such as genetic algorithm (GA) k-nearest neighbor (Nikhath et al , 2016) and particle swarm optimization (PSO), have been used in the existing papers (Sergio et al , 2012; Zhang and Zhang, 2016; Hong et al , 2011; Paolo et al , 2012; De Maio et al , 2008; Singh and Subba Rao, 2006) to improve the coherency and the correlation of the polyphase code (Sur et al , 2021). The existing models design the polyphase code by defining an individual fitness value using the objective function.…”

“…Recent continuous casting technology developments in the casting of ultrathick slab have resulted in thick plate being rolled directly from ultrathick slabs, with an added advantage in terms of high production capacity, excellent mechanical properties and surface quality. 5 However, internal looseness and segregation and surface and subsurface defects in the slab may produce difficulties in the final plate. Therefore, a proper understanding of slab characteristics and influences given by the mould is of great importance for achieving satisfactory properties in the as cast slab.…”
