Abstract: Introduction Meningitis is a commonly seen disease in the daily practice of emergency departments. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) examination including Gram stain and culture are crucial for identifying between bacterial and viral meningitis and should be completed prior to antibiotic administration.
