A real-rime physiological signal database system has been developed on a Sun Sparcsration running X-Windows. It acquires the signals, stores them inio rlie database, and displnys them back on the computer screen all in real-time. To increase rlu speed of data retrieval. an index field has been added to rlic relational databare tabks. Compared with the appmach using rhe Sybase software, our method is simpler. faster, and more cos1 effective. We have also applied a new method to display physiotogical signals in real-time at 200 H: sampling rare on an X-Window screen. It does nor loss any dara points and reduces screenjlickr.
