Abstract:This paper describes the development rationale and some of the operating characteristics of a piezoelectric transducer for ossicular chain activation. By utilizing a very thin, bimorph-type, flexure-mode piezoelectric transducer in a cantilevered configuration, relatively large displacements can be generated by very low activating voltages, typically less than 1 V to produce displacements corresponding to normal communication levels. Measurements of transducer activating voltage necessary to produce various le… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
