A Framework for Embedding Artificial Intelligence in Nursing: Education, Innovation, Collaboration, and Implementation – the ALIGN Model

Abstract

This editorial present a new framework for embedding Artificial Intelligence (AI) in nursing which has been developed by experts in the field. The four key elements of the framework which include education, innovation, collaboration, and implementation are discussed and recommendations made in each of these areas for nurses to follow to embed AI in their professional practice. The ALIGN (ArtificiaL IntelliGence in Nursing: EducatioN, InnovatioN, CollaboratioN, and ImplementatioN) model can support the future development, application, and evaluation of AI in nursing.
