A Framework for Load Sharing in Clustered Ad Hoc Networks

Abstract: In ad hoc networks, Clustering provides a hierarchical structure in which certain nodes are assigned the extra task (such as routing) of the network. Ordinary nodes do not participate in the routing instead they rely on coordinators of the clusters (clusterheads) for packet delivery. If a suitable tap is not applied on the number of nodes that join a clusterhead as its members, formation of bottleneck can takes place at the overloaded clusterheads. The performance of the network may get affected due to the bot… Show more

“…Zone-based technology is geographically a virtual organization of networks in close groups of nodes. Several zone techniques have been proposed in the mobile ad hoc network in literature [13][14][15][16][17][18]. The main problem of these techniques is the energy consumption in their zone-based structure even as changing the network structure.…”

“…Clustering means grouping nodes which are close to each other and has been studied largely in ad-hoc networks (Chatterjee, 2002;Choi, 2006;Zabian, 2008;Agarwal, 2012) and recently in WSNs Dahane, 2014;Benahmed, 2013) where the purpose in general is to reduce useful energy consumption and routing overhead. Recent research studies recognize that organizing mobile WSNs, in the sense defined above, into clusters by using a clustering mechanism is a challenging task.…”
