A Framework for Trusted Services

Abstract: Abstract. An existing challenge when selecting services to be used in a servicebased system is to be able to distinguish between good and bad services. In this paper we present a trust-based service selection framework. The framework uses a trust model that calculates the level of trust a user may have with a service based on past experience of the user with the service and feedback about the service received from other users. The model takes into account different levels of trust among users, different relati… Show more

“…There is also another type of works that aims to optimize the services discovery protocols using QoS or more specifically based on the trust to servers that respond to the client request, this trust is assessed through a set of parameters such as energy, response time and mobility of servers. Among these works we find [1], [2], [3], [4], [5] and [6].…”

“…The expertise-based component evaluating trust between agents and services lacks social features, as for example relationships between users to make a significant assessment. To address that, Da Silva and Zisman [17] proposed a trust model that takes into account different levels of trust among users, different relationships between users, and different degrees of importance that a user may have for certain QoS attributes. Some other works [6,32,38,45] have investigated social network analysis techniques to evaluate the trust in sociability an agent may have in a provider.…”

“…We consider the trust management schemes presented in [11], [16], [17] for establishing trust in our system. This is efficient in not only giving trust information of each and every server but also efficiently discover the malicious behavior of a server.…”
