A framework to model the simultaneous activation of sensory and motor nerve fibers

Abstract

A finite element method-based framework to predict the excitation of both sensory and motor nerve fibers in a single-stage computational model is proposed. The model can be applied to optimize the design of stimulation electrodes and improve stimulation strategies to overcome discomfort.
