Don repeatedly showed the principal relationships between partitioning properties and chemical activity with baseline toxicity (“narcosis”) in algae, invertebrates, fish, and mammals (Abernethy et al, 1986, 1988; Bobra et al, 1983, 1985; Celsie et al, 2016; Mackay et al, 2009, 2014; McCarty et al, 1992; Schmidt et al, 2018).
