A Fulminant Case of Adenovirus Genotype C108 Infection in a Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant Recipient with x-Linked Lymphoproliferative Syndrome Type 1

Abstract: A 3-year-old male with X-linked lymphoproliferative syndrome type 1 underwent an unrelated umbilical cord blood transplant (UUCBT). The week prior to transplant the patient tested positive for adenovirus (HAdV) with a viral load of <190 copies/mL and was started on cidofovir. UUCBT proceeded as scheduled, and the patient engrafted on day +19.
