“…When it comes to TMSPs based on {BW 11 } fragments, it is noteworthy that Ritchie et al reported the first photochromic BT-based diarylethene coordination complex [(C 25 H 16 N 2 F 6 S 2 )­(BW 11 O 39 Co) 2 ] 12– in 2018, which was made by connecting two cobalt­(III)-incorporated [BW 11 O 39 Co] 6– segments with pyridyl-containing diarylethene . Wang and co-workers combined copper–amino acid cations with {BW 12 } units and obtained chiral three-dimensional (3-D) frameworks with helical channels. , To our knowledge, acidification of {BW 11 } in the presence of tungstate not only can generate {BW 12 } but also can form other derivatives such as {BW 13 } that are derived from Keggin-type undecatungstic anion capped by a μ-oxoditungstic {W 2 O 11 } group. It was not until 2013 that Reinoso et al managed to obtain an Fe III -substituted BT derivative [{Fe­(H 2 O) 3 } 2 (WO 2 )­(HBW 11 O 39 ) 2 ] 8– , which is an unparalleled 2-boro-23-tungstate unit stabilized by Fe 3+ ions at external positions, delegating the first TM substitution in the {BW 13 } framework . Currently, a lot of TM-containing BTs have been reported by varying BT building units or changing TM species. However, related reports on Ln-substituted BTs (LnSBTs) are underdeveloped.…”
