A further investigation of the Mg xii 8.42 � doublet in a solar flare spectrum

Abstract: The intensity ratio of the components of the MgxII doublet was measured during a solar flare using one of the instruments on the Solar Maximum Mission spacecraft. The results are in good agreement with those reported previously and explained in terms of the effect of the trapping of resonance radiation.
