A fuzzy cancellation of stick-slip in DC motors

Abstract: Low velocity control of DC mutors is important in precision engineering applications. The SticLSlip oscillation caused by Coloumb friction between the commutator brushes and the rotor is especially predominant at low speeds. In this paper we present a fuzzy feedback cancellation scheme of this Stick-Slip oscillation. We use the system ODE and a Stick-Slip rule base to estimate the static and dynamic effects of friction.
