The Indonesian roof tile manufacturing industry relies heavily on manual operations, specifically in transportation and inspection processes, which creates multiple issues, such as fatigue, injuries, human error, and reduced productivity. Various industries in the Indonesian industrial landscape have begun embracing a problem-solving approach known as the theory of inventive problem-solving (TRIZ) to mine solutions for industrial issues. Nevertheless, its application in the Indonesian roof tile manufacturing industry remains unaddressed. The study aims to solve manual handling issues in the roof tile manufacturing industry using TRIZ. Three observations were outlined from manual roof tile transportation and inspection, followed by the formulation of engineering contradictions (ECs). The ECs were linked with system parameters, which were used as indicators within the contradiction matrix to extract inventive principles as solution models for conceptual development. The concept included an automated system with a conveyor belt (#15: dynamics) for effective transportation, automated image capture (#28: mechanics substitution) for effective inspection, and a flipping conveyor (#25: self-service) to eliminate manual contact. Although the study addressed several issues stemming from manual operations, mechanical analysis, prototyping, and usability testing still require improvements.

The increasing competition in the selling price of the vehicle makes the OEM lot of cost reduction programs to obtain competitive prices. The OEM's main program is to provide handling of product design to production to suppliers. One of its products is the slide adjuster of truck seats. The difficulties encountered by local suppliers are complex design, lack of product knowledge and new players. In an effort to answer the challenge, the supplier uses TRIZ method to create the design concept. The results of the design concepts obtained can provide price reductions due to the results of function analysis can be done component reduction. The decision is based on the result of different component functions and patent study. For structural strength of the slide adjuster verification with CAE with maximal 357.4 MPa stopper strength in bracket lock. Rattle slide obtained maximum 2.775 mm y direction. Slide load obtained 82.5 N. TRIZ method can effectively be used to design slide truck seat adjuster products.

Companies are facing cut throat competition and are forced to continuously perform better than their competitors. In order to enhance their position in the competitive world, organizations are improving at a faster pace. Industrial organizations must be used to the new ideals, such as innovation. Today, innovative design in the development of new products has become a core value in most companies, while innovation is recognized as the main driving force in the market. This work applies the Russian theory of inventive problem-solving, TRIZ and the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP) to design a new shape for machine tools. TRIZ offers several concepts and tools to facilitate concept creation and problem-solving, while FAHP is employed as a decision support tool that can adequately represent qualitative and subjective assessments under the multiple criteria decision-making environment. In the machine tools industry, this is the first study to develop an innovative design under the concept of lean production. We used TRIZ to propose the relevant principles to the shape's design with the innovative design consideration and also used FAHP to evaluate and select the best feasible alternative from independent factors based on a multiple criteria decision-making environment. To develop a scientific method based on the lean production concept in order to design a new product and improve the old designing process is the contribution of this research.
