Flint (SJ 254723): evaluation work at No. 261 Chester Road, immediately east of the Pentre Farm site, 1 yielded two sill-beam slots and levels of possible Roman date. At 253723, on the opposite side of the road, excavation revealed no Roman remains. 2 (2) Ruthin, Brynhyfryd Park School (SJ 130581): opportunities for proper examination of this new fort site 3 continue to be neglected by the relevant authorities. In October an area of c. 40 by 20 m was stripped and gravelled without inspection or prior excavation. 4 On the south side of the site observation of contractors' trenches 5 has revealed two lengths of ditch, one having an entrance 4.9 m wide with a straight external clavicula on its south side, and another ditch, just to the north of it and running obliquely, which is apparently associated with a titulum (3.6 m long, 1.5 m wide and 0.9 m deep), lying 62 m to the south. A number of later stone-lined post-pits, containing indications of posts c. 0.22 m in diameter, are thought to represent a third, probably civilian, occupation. POWYS (1) Abertanat and Clawdd Coch military sites: (i) at Abertanat Site B (SJ 245208) further work examined four barracks (each c. 4.5 m wide) in the central area (FIG. 2) and a possible stores structure. 6 (ii) At Clawdd Coch (247201), almost 1 km further south (FIG. 2), traces of The following abbreviations are used:
