A Heuristic Algorithm to Compute Multimodal Criterial Function Weights for Demand Management in Residential Areas

Abstract: Abstract:We present the conceptual design of a collective control scheme for appliances within a smart home. Based on the relevant energy acquisition procedures, three appliance groups are defined, modeled, and completed with an energy storage as well as a generator using renewable sources. At the following stage, a mixed quadratic optimization problem is presented, with the solution consisting in a time plan to regulate the operation of the individual devices. Importantly, the paper also proposes a heuristic … Show more

“…This situation shows the performance of PV modules in partial shading conditions [3]. These types of functions are ideal for evaluating the performance of numerical optimization algorithms to find a global maximum [4,5]. Therefore, the data obtained can be used to evaluate the performance of maximum power point tracking controllers that use intelligent control techniques (such as fuzzy logic and neural networks) [6] and numerical optimization algorithms, in scenarios that simulate extreme conditions of irradiance and operating temperature [7,8].…”

“…The solutions discussed in the Czech Republic and in the Moravian-Silesian Region, respectively, are aimed at constructing new car parks in brown fields, or the use of existing built-up areas, or their extension to parking spaces, especially in densely populated areas, typically in urban housing estates [1,3]. The presented solution of the study is in accordance with this concept (as well as in accordance with the concept of Industry 4.0) and enables an increase in the concentration of the number of cars (including electric cars) on the minimum area [4].…”

“…Within a reliable communication system, the command sent by the control device successfully reaches the controlled device (e.g., switching command sent to the switching device), and the data sent from the end device (e.g., measured data sent by a measuring device) successfully reaches the control device. Unsuccessful data transmission in the microgrid communication system can lead the microgrid to be operated with lower electrical-power quality or outside the defined operational limits, or it can even lead to a failure of some part or the whole microgrid [ 28 , 29 , 30 , 31 ].…”
