Abstract:Step voltage regulator (SVR) has been utilized in power distribution systems for decades as the voltage regulation device. Due to the increasing integration of distributed energy resources, the conventional SVR is severely challenged by the modern power distribution pattern with high renewable energy penetration. The induced arc from the conventional SVR tap change and more frequent tap changes due to voltage instability from the renewable energy impose constraints on the conventional SVRs lifetime. Meanwhile,… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
