Abstract:Abstract. The photon structure function F γ 2 (x, Q 2 ) has been measured at Q 2 of 706 GeV 2 using a sample of two-photon events with a scattered electron observed in the OPAL electromagnetic endcap calorimeter. The data were taken during the years 1997-1999, when LEP operated at e + e − centre-of-mass energies ranging from 183 to 202 GeV, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 424 pb −1 . This analysis represents the highest Q 2 measurement of F γ 2 made to date.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
