A highly sensitive in-situ turbidity sensor with low power consumption

Abstract: A highly sensitive in-situ turbidity sensor with the low power consumption was proposed and evaluated in this study. To meet the practical requirements of the in-situ detection, we have designed the light scattering path, watertight mechanical structure, and ultra-weak scattering light detecting method. Experiments showed that the sensor had a sensitivity of 0.0076 FTU with the concentration range of 0 -25 FTU and the R-square of 0.9999. The sensor could withstand the water pressure in depth of 1000 m and had … Show more

“…WEC voltage variation for wave height of 90 mm.Present design of the prototype with peak power of 4.3 W, and average power above 53.2 mW makes it useful for real size applications in operating low power consuming ocean sensors. Typical power consuming sensors used for ocean monitoring wave logger, sonic sensors, and wave gauge, where the power consumption of the sensors is within 9-35mW[69][70][71]. Voltage variation during the energy release mode shown in Fig.17indicates that the voltage varies from zero to maximum.…”
