Abstract:Medical images like magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA) images have inhomogeneous intensities. When such images are segmented using active contour models, they do not produce desired results. Hence, segmenting an image with inhomogeneous intensities is a challenge. In this paper, the problem of segmenting medical images with intensity inhomogeneity has been addressed. Here, we propose a method which uses the concept of region decomposition along with combination of region-based segmentation and edge-detector fu… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
