A Lifetime of Work on Defect Modelling for Luminescence
Peter D. Townsend,
Yafang Wang
Abstract:To fully appreciate the contributions of Professor Watanabe to studies of luminescence, it is important to recall how, during his lifetime, not only have experimental facilities changed dramatically, but also there have been (and still are) many conflicting models as to the relevant lattice sites. This current overview summarises some of these factors. Indeed, several powerful early techniques have gone into abeyance, but there is a real potential benefit in resurrecting them. Equally, early key experiments on… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
